Why Small-Group Learning?
One of the questions parents ask us most often is: "How many students are there in each class?"
At Inkwell Academy, we intentionally limit every class to a maximum of six students.
Not because our classroom can't fit more- but because we believe:
⭐️ The quality of learning is more important than the size of the class. ⭐️
In large tutoring classes, even the most experienced teacher can find it difficult to truly understand every student's learning needs.
Some students are too shy to raise their hand.
Some struggle to keep up with the pace.
Some don't understand the content but feel embarrassed to ask questions.
👉 Over time, the lesson becomes passive. Students simply listen instead of actively learning.
Our goal is different. We want every student to be seen, heard, and involved.
That's why small-group learning offers so many advantages:
📚 Teachers gain a deeper understanding of each student's strengths and areas for improvement.
✍️ Students receive more immediate guidance and personalised feedback.
🗣️ Every child has more opportunities to ask questions, share ideas, and build confidence.
🤝 Students learn from one another by hearing different perspectives and approaches.
💡 We combine the personalised support of individual tutoring with the motivation and interaction of collaborative learning.
This is especially important in English. Reading comprehension, writing, critical thinking, and verbal communication are not skills that develop simply by listening to a teacher.
Real learning happens when students are able to:
✔️ask thoughtful questions.
✔️express and defend their ideas.
✔️ listen to different perspectives.
🌱 At Inkwell Academy, we believe that the best classroom isn't the one with the most students. It's the one where every child has the opportunity to be seen, guided, encouraged, and inspired to grow.
